Bailey’s Back |
In The FIA GT Championship – In A Lister |

After undisclosed “contractual problems”, Philippe Favre will not be able to drive with Nicolaus Springer in the FIA GT Championship this year, but his place has been taken by 2000 Champion Julian Bailey – who, since late December, hadn’t looked likely to drive a Lister this year.
Bailey had been expected to stand in for Tom Coronel, alongside Jamie Campbell-Walter, at Brno and the Nurburgring, but that role will now be filled by Richard Dean. The Yorkshireman – a Lister winner last year at Croft – could, in theory, still occupy the seat of a Westward Panoz at Donington Park on April 14, as the Brno FIA GT race is on Monday April 16. That would leave little time to learn the Brno track though. Richard Dean was unavailable for comment.
Julian Bailey now seems to have a very full programme for 2001: the full FIA series, plus the MG at Le Mans.
