The Cerbera Rides Again |
|
|
Martin Short will be racing his old faithful TVR Cerbera at Silverstone this weekend. He explains that TVR have been "beset with supply problems, as have most of the motor sports industry at the moment, and various hold ups have meant that the focus of the factory has had to go onto the Richard Stanton customer car."
"We are in the fortunate position of having our Cerbera ready. We have spent a large part of the winter bringing the car up to a more race reliable condition with the introduction of a massive differential unit, better quality driveshafts and a host of other jobs, the net result meaning that the car should be much more able to withstand the rigours of a one hour race."
The reliability of the (now blue) Cerbera should be greatly improved. "We have completed over 300 laps during the last week with no problems other than a slightly worn propshaft joint," explains Martin.
"We do have somebody patiently waiting in the wings to hire the Cerbera, and they will have her as soon as we are in the saddle with the Tuscan and will hopefully benefit from our extended and surprise run in the car, and subsequent further development," explains 'Shorty'.
Rob Barff will partner Martin again, and it sounds as though the Tuscan R might be a luxury this pair don't need for a while.
