John McLoughlin was an interested observer at Silverstone throughout the weekend. Ralf Kelleners was standing in for Marco Attard in the Zest Performance Ferrari 360, but a stronger connection was John's confirmation that Zest are involved in the construction of a 360 that should appear at the end of the ELMS season, before being taken to the USA for the ALMS.
"We're building the 360 in co-operation with Zest and RML Ltd. Ray Mallock's company are building the roll cage, with the car being assembled at Zest. We're working closly with Alain Bertaut at the ACO, for obvious homologation reasons.
"Eva Sallek and I are behind the company we're setting up, with a third partner involved too. We hope to have the car running within three months. The target is the Salzburgring race. Ralf tested this one in February, so it was logical for him to drive it here."
Unfortunately, the Ferrari lost drive after 11 laps of the Privilege race and Ralf Kelleners didn't race it, but he showed the potential of it in Qualifying with an encouraging timne, despite gear selection problems after a hurried gearbox change. |
