This is the differential unit that Martin Short fitted into his #55 Cerbera over the winter. "£2700 all taxes paid into this country. I had some contacts in the US and after a search on the web, we came up with this beauty. It's the unit they fit in a Craftsman truck, so it's well able to cope with 700 bhp. That's solved that weak link on the car."
The Cerbera had an engine change on Saturday night / Sunday morning at Silverstone, but other than that hiccup, the car was well set for a highly successful start to the season. Heat soak then ruined a caliper seal on the front brakes at the pit-stop, and Martin had to pump out the fluid from the fronts and adjust the balance right to the back to give him any stopping power.
All anyone needed to win the class in GTO was a straightforward run, and none of the front runners had one. |
