Michael Bartels will drive a fifth 2001-spec Opel Astra V8 Coupé in the DTM, it was announced yesterday.
The Opel line-up is as follows:
Opel Team Holzer: Joachim Winkelhock, Timo Scheider and Michael Bartels.
Opel Team Phoenix: Manuel Reuter and Yves Olivier.
Opel Euroteam: Alain Menu and Hubert Haupt.
Peter Mamerow drives a year-old, privateer Astra V8 Coupé.
Bartels, Menu, Reuter, Scheider and Winkelhock will drive the five 2001-spec Opel Astra V8 Coupés.
“We’re happy to have Michael Bartels driving for us again,” Opel motorsport boss Volker Strycek explained. “Michael has always been a frontrunner, as can be told from his twelve top-ten finishes last year.”
“The DTM is the best touring car series there is, and the Opel Coupé is a racing car which I love to drive, so I am happy to be part of the Opel family again,” Bartels said. |
