David Legangneux has noticed a Ouest-France feature with Stéphane Ortelli, in which the Frenchman reckons that Bentley could be going for the pole in June.
The speed the car has shown in testing at Snetterton and Most would suggest that it is close enough to the Audis on shorter tracks to be in with a chance for pole position when speeds rise at Le Mans.
The same publication also reports that the roll structure of the car is constructed from carbon, thereby allowing a smaller cockpit, which helps the aerodynamics - if not the space available for taller drivers.
The engine technicians are apparently working on the V8 to make it more docile, which could be necessary as LM GTPs use narrower tyres than the open cars.
Derek Bell will join Team Bentley in an advisory capacity at Le Mans. |
