The Pescarolo Sport Courage C60 retired from the first round of the FIA SCC at Barcelona with a problem with the ECU: a second one will be put in the car for the Le Mans 24 hours.
Jean-Christophe Boullion was at the wheel at the time, and despite a relative lack of grip on the tyres in use in Spain, a victory was possible because of the braking problems that struck the winning Ferrari.
French press reports indicate that the new engine was used during the race. It was not scheduled, but after a little water leak during practice, the team called Sodemo at Magny-Cours, who decided to send the new engine to Catalunya. The installation was finished ten minutes before the end of the warm-up.
Apparently the car's entry at Donington this weekend is dependent on what Sodemo find after they examine the new engine. If they do take part, Boullion & Redon will be at the wheel. Bourdais will be at Imola for the F3000 race.
The Courage C60 Peugeot was launched with Michelin tyres, which will be used in Le Mans. But in the FIA-SCC, the team has to use Goodyear and Bourdais said that the car was slipping a lot.
