David Legangneux comments that testing of Pescarolo Sport's Courage C52 (fourth at Le Mans this year) continued on Tuesday 31 October, on the Bugatti Circuit. The weather was cold and windy in the morning, but sunny in the afternoon. Emmanuel Clérico was at the wheel. The main goal was to continue engine development of the Sodemo Peugeot unit, running developments that have already run on the test bed. The main interest was the pressure regulation of the turbochargers.
The work was definitely stopped for this day after a little technical problem. Emmanuel Clerico was on the pits staright when the engine stopped. A little fuel leak had occurred and started a small fire. Some cables were burnt, but the damage wasn’t serious. But after a return to the pits, it was impossible to restart the engine.
Another test session is possible with the C52, to finish the work that was scheduled for this day. The first laps of the new C60 are still scheduled for the 3rd week of November.
