Is it Wednesday already? Did Tim Harvey and Rob Wilson win on Sunday?
With apologies, if necessary, to Hayles Racing that it's taken until now to acknowledge their victory at Snetterton at the weekend. It was the weekend from hell in this (mobile) office, with perhaps too much racing taking place at the weekend - three major meetings in the UK.
When Tim Harvey left Brands Hatch on Sunday morning, the editor had that feeling that occurs from time to time that here was a victory in the offing. Harvey didn't have to worry about driving a JSM Alfa 147, as that wasn't ready for Brands Hatch. So he could amble up to Snetterton in good time for the race and focus his thoughts on just one event.
Rob Wilson clearly did the business in the early going, and that wiper problem (plus tyres) for the Lister was enough to ensure that it wouldn't be a second Lister win this season - yet. So well done Liz Rose, Hayles Racing and Chamberlain Motorsport - plus the drivers of course. Liz has had a two year wait for outright success, and there's been a lot of heartache during that period.
Great to see a new team at the top of the podium, and great to see a Viper winning again. |
