Heading Into 2002 |

Autosport magazine is suggesting that Audi will carry on their Le Mans / ALMS programme into 2002. A sportscar heritage seems to be their target, and that's a prospect that they might already have achieved with their current level of domination. If more customer cars run next year, as seems probable, it's going to get ever harder for the opposition to get into the top six.
Indications from France suggest that a second Le Mans win this year will be all the encouragement needed for Audi to try and make it a hat-trick in 2002. Perhaps they'll leave it to their customers after that?
With the Johansson car going so well already, and Champion taking a 2001 chassis to Le Mans, Audi look to be in an even stronger position than last year going into this year's 24 Hours. |
