Roy Baker may be stuck in a wheel chair, but his enthusiasm for racing is as strong as ever. The Project 2000 Pilbeam ran in his colours for the first time in the Donington SRWC event, but already he was talking about entering the car at Adelaide in the LMP675 class. Graham Morris was keen to be in the driving seat - and to take his whole family out to Australia for Christmas and the New Year.
Adelaide should also see the new Panoz Roadster make its debut, complete with the Elan 4 litre V8. With Audi planning an evolution of this year's R8, perhaps Panoz will be right up there on pace next year.
In contrast to the new Panoz, JMB Competition are apparently considering taking their 333SP Ferrari to Adelaide, straight from the Kyalami round of the SRWC. The first time a genuine all-Ferrari 333 has entered the ALMS this year? Pescatori and Terrien will hustle it along as quickly as anyone, but the car is unlikely to be on the pace.
Skea Racing International will be entering three Porsches at Adelaide, their home race. A Prototype too, or will that plan be put on hold for next year?
Chamberlain are planning to run two Vipers at Adelaide, as explained elsewhere. |
