John Brooks is in France already, but spotted this unusual form of transport at Thames Ditton in Surrey just before he left.
The destination board reads Byfleet, Portsmouth, Caen, Alencon, Le Mans. Bentley or MG to be the favoured team of the 50 or 60 000 from the UK?
Hans-Jörg Hofer knows this vehicle well! "The last time I saw the Bedford Le Mans Transport was during the 24h race in 1999 close to - I think Indianapolis - the very friendly British people invited me on their roof- garden where we had one or two beers together, the "first floor" was filled with sixpacks. The best quote of one of the 'inhabitants' was "Sir, we have enough beer to keep us comfortable the whole weekend"."
