It seems that few people visit Le Mans just once and if the bug bites you young then you are likely to find yourself drawn back year after year.
One person missing this year though is 13 year old James Goodwin, who first saw the race in 1995. The reason he's missing? Dad Graham is on TotalMotorSport duty at LM for the first time and since the duo usually watch the race together Goodwin the Younger must stay at home this time.
One consolation though - during the 1999 race, father and son witnessed Thierry Boutsen's career-ending accident in the #2 Toyota GT-One. With Boutsen safely removed from the car, a nearby marshal handed over the front wing of the shattered car.
With Boutsen back at LM this year advising the Champion Audi squad, there was a rare opportunity to finish off the autograph collection (already featuring Allan McNish and Ralf Kelleners) on a dirty, battered but much prized piece of carbon fibre. The man himself was happy to oblige. Welcome back Thierry, see you next year James.
