The task for the SR1 title challengers is a simple one - beat the #1 BMS Ferrari.

Marco Zadra has Jean-Marc Gounon back as his partner this week, and the Italian is 22 points ahead of the Nielsen / Katoh combination, with four races left. With the exception of Monza, where his car retired, Zadra has beaten his title challengers on every occasion except Brno, where Nielsen and Katoh took the maiden Dome win. Nielsen needs more of those, starting here.
Both Domes, the Ascari and the second BMS Ferrari have all scored in every round bar one - just like Zadra - but the Ferrari has scored more heavily. Donington sees Zadra's last chance to make the most of larger restrictors, before a slight cut before Mondello. Jan Lammers is tyre testing at Zandvoort today (Wednesday) to get the black Dome set up on Goodyears; perhaps a change of rubber will make all the difference.
Thed Bjork and Larry Oberto would be clear favourites for the SR2 title, but for their disqualification at Magny-Cours. They lead Carway and O'Connell by 15 points (instead of 30), but the British team are out testing this week to take full advantage of their AER Nissan engine.
Local pair Michael Mallock and Phil Andrews are "up for a win this weekend (in the Swara Tampolli)," commented the former. "We've been dealt a lot of bad luck do far this year, but I really think all of that will change at Donington. Testing has gone well and the whole team is optimistic that we'll succeed". Olivier Beroud will be at Donington this weekend to collect the prize he won at Magny-Cours - Mallock's race gloves. Michael will be hoping that his new pair get plenty of use.
Redman-Bright are back with last year's title winning Pilbeam, for Oli Wilkinson and Piers Johnson, so there's plenty of local interest for Round 6.
